T.H. Evans is proud of our rebuild department. Our technicians conform to the highest standards in the heavy duty transmission reman industry. We offer two classes of repaired transmissions. The first class is what we call a Rebuilt unit. These units have been cleaned and inspected. On a Rebuilt inspection, the shift top is removed and all interior components are inspected. Worn gears and components are replaced with OEM parts. Likewise, the back box is removed, inspected, and repaired. After the unit passes a quality control inspection, the Rebuilt transmission is tagged and finished in black. The exposed input shaft is coated with an antirust solution for protection. A Rebuilt unit carries a 30 day guarantee.
The second reman program is what we call a Reman unit. These units are completely disassembled. All original components are individually cleaned via bead abrasion and inspected. Worn components are replaced with new parts. Reman units receive all new bearings and synchronizers. They also receive a new input shaft. All new gaskets, air lines, fittings, and seals assure a leak free component. Once the Reman unit is inspected for quality workmanship, it is tagged and finished in red. The new input shaft is then coated with an antirust solution for protection. Our Reman transmissions are guaranteed for 90 days.
